KNUST Career Services Centre and Puma Energy Hold Interactive Forum for Students

As part of its efforts to engage industry and secure opportunities for students and alumni, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Career Services Centre hosted Puma Energy at a forum at the College of Engineering Auditorium.

The forum, held on Friday, 17th February 2023, allowed the management of the Puma Energy Company to share their experiences and engage students in a question-and-answer session. There were presentations by the Director of the Career Services Centre, Mrs Selina Angmor; the Operations Manager Puma Energy, Mr. Micheal Kyeremanteng; and the Business Development Manager Puma Energy, Mr Lionel Nuno.

The Director of the Career Services Centre, and Mr. Micheal Kyeremanteng, also seized the opportunity to address the attendees, highlighting the importance of such events in bridging the gap between academia and industry. Aptitude tests were subsequently administered and interviews held at the College of Engineering Conference room and Board room respectively.

In a related development, the Director of the Career Centre, Mrs Selina Angmor, alongside the management team from Puma Energy, held a brief meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson. The Vice-Chancellor, emphasised the university’s effort to engage industry to produce graduates ready for the world of work. She further seized the opportunity to share the vision of management to Support One Needy Student with One Laptop (SONSOL Project) and solicited for support from the management of Puma Energy in that regard.

Joining the meeting virtually, the General Manager of Puma Energy, Mr. Zwelithini Mlotshwa, underscored the significance of the collaboration to nurture and provide exciting opportunities for the graduates who excel to evolve within the company.
